ThermaLift skin tightening relies on mild heat and radiofrequency to gently improve your appearance without damaging your skin. The secret is the way collagen responds to the radio frequency energy—it will actually contract and tighten, which gives you a non-surgical “facelift.”

THERMALIFT is radio frequency energy that generates a high heat instantly into the probe, which, when applied, penetrates to the reticular layer of the dermis. The reticular layer is the layer of skin containing collagen and elastin fibers, which are responsible for the texture and firmness of the skin. The heat stimulates the generation of these fibers, lifting sagging skin and firming thin, paperlike skin. This is being done using ultrasound gels which acts like a conductor and insulator, allowing the heat to penetrate into skin while protecting the skin from burning.

This treatment is very effective for the tightening effect of the skin. It helps shrink the pores, and diminish fine lines and wrinkles.  

If the patient’s age ranges from 18-30, they should expect minimal results. They should anticipate changes in the firmness and bounce of their skin, but the results will be subtle due to the fact that at their age they are still producing collagen or the production is just beginning to slow down. If the patient is about 30 years old and beyond, they can expect a bouncier skin with results that will be more noticeable. The patients who can expect the most dramatic results will be patients 50 years old and above as they are more likely to have saggy skin. The older the patient, the farther apart the treatment is scheduled because the cellular turnover rate of the skin is between 14 to 26 days. The younger you are, the faster the skin regenerates. The older you are, the slower the skin regenerates. Performing back to back treatments on an older patient is ultimately a waste of treatment because the goal is to stimulate collagen production at a faster rate and then maintain the collagen synthesis.
